    Common Misperceptions:

Flatstar. At least that used to be the case. Yes we have a lot of cruisers, but with the Lookout Mountain terrain added in 2000, we are Flatstar no more!

    Top 5 Selling Points:

    1. Family, family, family. Northstar is consistently ranked in the top 5 by SKI magazine for being family friendly.

    2. Grooming, we have the best grooming fleet in Lake Tahoe, we groom approx 70% of the hill each and every night for your corduroy riding pleasure

    3. NO wind holds here. Natural north facing tree coverage provides great wind protection.

    4. One of the newest villages in all of the ski industry. 9,000 sq. foot ice rink, 5 star hotel going in, 1300+ acres of future expansion, shall I go on?

    5. Top 10 in terrain parks by Transworld, we host the Vans Tahoe Cup every year, and will host the USASA Junior National championships for the second straight year in 2007.

    Best Resort Client:

Anyone that loves to ski with their family, ride their board in Tahoe's largest superpipe, relax in a first class village, ice skate the night away, or just get away from it all.

    Recommendations / Highlights:

FREE, that's right, FREE intermediate and above lessons Sunday through Friday non-holiday. Meet at 1:30 or 3:00pm at the top of the Comstock Quad for Lake Tahoe's only FREE lessons.

Take the Tahoe Queen, the only waterbourne ski shuttle from south Lake Tahoe to Northstar on Wednesday or Friday from mid January through early April.

Don't miss the new six-pack chair going in Summer 06 to replace the Pioneer double, now it's only one chairlift to the backside!

Cheap PBR pints at Big Wave Burittos

Great Lake Tahoe photo op on East Ridge off of Comstock. Immediate left off the top of the lift, stop about 200 yards down and get the best Lake Tahoe picture memory you'll every find.

Chilly Peppers Cantina, on mountain, best carne asada around.

Ice skating is only $5 for skate rental, free if you already have skates

    Other Activities:

Ice Skating, 40km of cross country, snow shoeing, snowmobiling off site but close by, site seeing cruises, wine tasting in the village, lots of shopping, sake bombs, downtown Truckee, the Tourist Club (T Club) Bar where you can blow your BAC before you head in for the night, Reno casinos, tie it in with a San Francisco or Las Vegas trip for the ultimate getaway.

    What's New This Year:

$10.5 million in the next phase of mountain improvements which will result in the completion of two new Doppelmayr lifts for the 2006/07 winter season. The planned lifts include a high-speed six-pack which will dramatically improve access to Lookout Mountain and the Backside. The new lift, whose base is situated directly across from the mid-mountain Day Lodge, will whisk riders up nearly 1,050 vertical feet in just five minutes. The new six-pack will access 13 total trails and 137 acres of total terrain, including 60 acres of new intermediate terrain. Included in this terrain is a new mile-long run to connect guests directly from the top of the six-pack to the Backside.

The second lift is a European-style surface lift to replace Salmon Tow, which transported guests over to the resort's popular advanced terrain on Lookout Mountain. The new lift will be friendly to both skiers and snowboarders. The lift will be easily accessible from the top of the new six-pack lift, providing convenient access to Lookout Mountain.

Why This Resort is Special or Unique:

Free lessons, soon to have Lake Tahoe's first 5 star hotel, Lake Tahoe's newest village, wind protection, Tahoe's biggest superpipe, Burton progression parks, the list goes on.
