Mt. Bachelor is part of the middle Cascade Mountain Range and is located just 22 miles southwest of Bend, Oregon. It's volcanic cone-shaped peak at 9,065 feet offers skiing in all directions with all levels of challenge from powder-filled bowls to well-groomed cruiser runs.

SKI Magazine's reader resort survey ranked Bachelor's lifts number one for the third straight year. This year Mt. Bachelor increases the fun with the addition of a tubing hill for the whole family, plus a superpipe and expanded terrain park for snowboarders.

    Two regional carriers serve the Bend/Redmond airport -- Skywest & Horizon. Several flights daily service the Portland market, with direct flights also to Seattle and San Francisco.

    Other Transportation Options:

    Amtrak offers service on the Coast Starliner train on a regular basis from the Bay Area and Los Angeles to Central Oregon.

    #1 - Mt. Bachelor is hard to get to.

    Fact: Simply fly in to Portland, OR (international airport) and drive 3 hours to Bend (similar to other resorts); or connect from Portland to Bend on a regional jet and arrive 40 minutes later in Central Oregon.

    A new tubing hill, Snowblast, will attract all family members for some easy-going fun riding custom-designed tubes down the runs in a 5-acre park. Mt. Bachelor is also satisfying the wishes of snowboarders with an expanded terrain park and superpipe.
