1) I heard it was hard to get to Aspen/Snowmass. What can I tell my clients?

Although it is true that we are not close (under 2 hours) to any major metropolitan areas, we have more air seats flying into Aspen than our major competitors. Within a 2 hour drive of the resort, we have over 32,000 air seats per week. Additionally, Aspen airport is the world's most convenient winter resort airport…just 3 miles/4.8 kilometers from ASPEN!

2) Many of my clients say Aspen is just for movie stars and is not affordable. Is this true?

Definitely not. Although in many cases packages to Aspen can be more expensive, we have a variety of lodging and lift-ticket programs available that cater to both the very affluent and the more budget minded traveler. Additionally, with over 150 restaurants and bars between the villages of Aspen and Snowmass, there are many dining and entertainment options for anyone looking for a great ski-resort experience.

3) What is the snow like in Aspen/Snowmass?

Our resort gets an average of 300 inches of snowfall every year among our 4 mountains. Winter conditions in Aspen/Snowmass in general are considered mild relative to most other resorts. We have over 300 days of sunshine a year and 80% of our snow falls at night. In general, we receive classic light, dry Rocky Mountain powder and are acclaimed for our state-of-the-art snowmaking and grooming.

4) Is it true that the lift tickets are expensive compared to other resorts?

If the tickets are purchased in advance you can save up to 40% compared to window rates. Group ticket prices are particularly attractive. Dollar for dollar, we are comparable to our competitors, but unlike many other resorts, we have 4 mountains to ski and snowboard versus just one. Therefore, your client gets more for their money.

5) How do my clients get to each of the 4 mountains?

All 4 of our mountains are within a 12-mile/19.2-kilometer radius and accessible via a continuous free skier shuttle that runs all day between all 4 mountains! You actually don't need to rent a car to get around our resort.

6) Do you have any affordable ski-in/ski-out properties that are good for families?

Absolutely! 95% of the lodging in Snowmass is ski-in/ski-out and many of these are moderate condominiums, which are great for families! Check this site often for last-minute specials and current deals being offered by the various properties.

7) Is it true that beginners cannot ski or snowboard on Aspen?

Although there are no beginner runs on Aspen Mountain, it makes up only 14% (675 acres) of our total terrain. On our other mountains combined we have over 490 acres of GREEN (easiest) terrain alone. We also have one of the best ski schools (many programs are commissionable) in the world which enables anyone with enough desire to be able to try Aspen mountain before their visit ends.

8) Do you allow snowboarders on your mountain?

We have always allowed snowboarders on Snowmass, Buttermilk and Highlands, and we recently just announced the opening of Aspen Mountain to snowboarders during our Spring Jam event on April 1, 2001! So YES, we allow snowboarding!
