Welcome

SKITOPS is a national trade organization consisting of ski travel companies. Each company has been packaging and selling ski vacations for a minimum of five years, annually generates 10,000 skier days or lodging nights and maintains comprehensive general liability insurance in the amount of $1,000,000.00. Further, each member must be recognized by four ski resorts or eight lodging properties as a wholesaler and they must be ARC or IATA approved. Also, we currently have over 100 suppliers, as Supplier Members.

Founded in 1989, SKITOPS established demanding criteria for membership to encourage professionalism and excellence. Our goal is to foster communication among suppliers, the media and consumers for the purpose of enhancing the quality of services provided by our members to the ski travel industry. Through cooperative efforts and increased understanding among entities, we believe there can be continued growth and a higher quality experience for the consumer.

Membership in SKITOPS includes:

  • ATTENDANCE AT THE SKITOPS NETWORK, MARCH 2008 AT CRESTED BUTTE, COLORADO. This meeting brings together the top ski tour operators and suppliers in an open forum including a formal and informal gathering to promote business. The two day network format will join each of the current Supplier Members with the ski travel companies in a face to face meeting. After the Network one day of social skiing is added for further personal contact. Network attendance for one representative is included in your dues. Additional attendees are $100.00 each. Past Networks have been an overwhelming success and very worthwhile for all parties involved.

  • Access to attend the SkiTops University / Convention in August - Here members gather for a training format. The timing of this meeting offers the goal of preseason news, programs and final details on resort, property and product enhancements or changes prior to ski season. A limited number of resort slots are open for a 25 minute training session with tour operator members (last year over 60 front line agents and owners attended). There is ample time throughout the event for one on one networking and also several mixer events that bring the membership together. Registration for this meeting is $125.00 per attendee.

  • Both meetings offer lodging and airport transfer discounts for attendees. The Spring Network has complimentary skiing for all attendees.

  • The opportunity to join our efforts to enhance the ski industry and increase sales and efficiency.

  • The opportunity to increase sales during value or slack periods.

  • Networking with fellow ski tour operators and suppliers.
Membership Dues are paid on a yearly basis effective March 1 to February 28.

SKITOPS is growing as is its importance within our industry. Hopefully you can see the benefits of your participation. If you have any questions or need additional information, call any member or specifically the membership committee:
